FFTC Meeting

 The FFTC met on 30 June 2011 and the following are notes on items of interest:

 
FREE FLIGHT AT THE R/C NATIONALS

 This year SAM will be hosting the Big Tent at the R/C Nats with Free Flight sharing their space.

To insure we have a good representation I am looking for volunteers to spend a day in the tent demonstrating what we do and talking to the many visitors.

I envisage 3 flyers per day each taking a couple of models and perhaps some part built components and using these as the basis of their conversations. We could also take part in the open flying sessions in the evening, weather permitting and introduce the many visitors to contest Free Flight model flying. 

It’s important that we keep promoting Free Flight and the R/C Nats gives us the biggest audience. If you can spare a day contact me ASAP.

Free Flight Equinox Cup

 The Free Flight Equinox Cup will take place on 17 and 18 September at Salisbury Plain.

 We need CDs and timekeepers for both days i.e. Saturday F1B/F1C and Sunday F1A/F1Q. If you can help please contact John Carter - Tel: 01782 398816 or E mail: carterbuild@yahoo.co.uk.

 
Space – Equinox Cup

 Please note that some Magazines show the Space Equinox Cup at Salisbury Plain and this is incorrect. The Space Equinox Cup venue will be Barkston Heath.

 
Team Selection Meeting 18/19 June

 Please be aware of the following statement from the FFTC, following the above meeting:

 The use of Radio DT to achieve a flight of under 20 secs does not contravene the BMFA Rule 3.1.6 "Attempts For Official Flights".

 
F1E Events

 The 3rd F1E Meeting (25/26 June), had a change of format. Flying was to be on either of the two nominated days, which one was decided a few days before the meeting. This format was felt by all to be a success. Subsequently it has been decided to run the two F1E meetings scheduled for October (meetings 6 and 7) to the same format. Please note therefore that the dates for these meetings are now 1-2 October (6th meeting); 22-23 October (7th meeting). Please Contact Ian Kaynes for full details - 01252 513538 or 0794 185 2144.

 

World Cup locations

Ian Kaynes has advised that for 2012 only two events flown in any one country can count for any competitor.

 
Rule Changes For 2012

 SAM 35 and 1066 rules

 The rules are still being worked on and will be presented to the SAM 35 and 1066 AGMs in October.

 Radio Assist on Free Flight sites.

 A report on the use of R/C assist for planes flown on free flight sites has been produced by David Phipps and will be put on        the  BMFA website.

 General Rule Changes

 Suggestions and proposals are being considered and will be processed as detailed in FFTC News No 43.
