Message from Trevor Grey re Salisbury Plain
Please note that the Salisbury Plain Trimming Weekend on October 18/19 is planned to take place on Area 18 (Everleigh), not the usual Area 8.
This is an experiment to assess the practicalities of the site for further use. As such the arrangements will be a little different to normal. There will be a meeting point before moving on to the area itself. This is the "Crown" Pub/Hotel in Everleigh itself; time 9:45 for 10:00am.
Please assemble at the above first, don't move on to the site itself.
Also note that the usual provisos re last minute cancellation still apply - Peter Tribe will notify all as usual shortly before the date/s.

Euro Champs 2008 - short report from Mike Woodhouse
Some of you may have already heard the great news. The team has returned from Bulgaria after a successful European Free Flight Championships. The team has returned with the overall championship - The Jack North Trophy.
The teams were:F1A Chris Edge, Mike Cook and Peter WilliamsF1B Russell Peers, Ray Jones, Peter MartinF1C Stafford Screen, Peter Watson, Alan Jack
As well as the Jack North Trophy the F1C team picked up the second place award. In addition, Russell Peers and Stafford Screen picked up individual second places in the earlier Bulgaria Cup Open International.
The conditions were warm with temperatures up to 35 degrees C and for the Bulgaria Cup a bit of a breeze. Retrieving over rough farm land and a few local obstacles made life rather hard work for the small team of flyers and helpers. All in all a great result. Full reports will appear in due course.

The FFTC advises the BRITISH MODEL FLYING ASSOCIATION (BMFA) on all matters relating to free flight activities.
The BMFA is the body delegated by the Royal Aero Club to be responsible for all aspects of model flying in Great Britain. It is also recognised as the sole representative organisation for the sport in the UK by the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) which is the world-wide governing body for all forms of sporting aviation, including model flying. Information from the CIAM Free Flight Sub-Committee of the FAI is available from its Chairman, Ian Kaynes, at kaynes@btinternet.com Ian also publishes the FFn Contest Diary for the current year.
The Association numbers over 30000 members, with more than 640 affiliated clubs, the majority of which nowadays cater for the R/C flyer. If you would like more information about any aspect of the Association's work, or about aeromodelling in general, please click on the BMFA link above.
Mike Parker has created a Web Site for Crookham Contest Modellers and S.A.M. 1066 - any comments on this, please, to Mike by clicking here.
Every year since 1985 the BMFA has organised a Free Flight Forum. This has become a popular event in which papers on all aspects of free flight are presented by experts. They cover, for example, design, construction, performance, tactical flying and rules. A list of all reports is available at BMFA Free Flight Forum Reports.
Mike Woodhouse now prepares a page of free flight news for publication in BMFA News (the official journal of the BMFA). He is always pleased to receive items of interest and can be contacted on 01603 457754 or by e-mail at Mike@freeflightsupplies.co.uk
More general free flight information can be found in both the NFFS Web Site and the SCAT Web Site.
